Episode 1 Singing: Bongzi Sanban (梆子散板) (1)

The Banhong Style (板腔體) in Cantonese opera is divided into two major categories of "Bongzi" (梆子) and "Yiwong" (二黃). In this episode, we will introduce and demonstrate the singing style of Bongzi. While " Sauban" (首板) usually appears at the very beginning of a play, as a "First Sentence". "Satban" (煞板) is a second sentence that is usually used in the end of a scene.
